Residents of Pan Oasis, a residential society in Sector 70, Noida, are a worried lot these days. And for good reason. Not only does the society lack a firefighting system, but the paltry number of security guards and the absence of CCTV cameras are a cause for concern.

According to Kapil Kumar, a resident, “Some time ago, there was a fire incident in the society due to a short circuit. Although there was no loss of life, the incident has made residents feel very insecure. We have demanded that the builder instal a firefighting system as soon as possible.”

“There are just a handful of guards in the name of security. Four are on duty during the day and three at night. There are no CCTV cameras or intercom facility. Can you blame the 400 families living in the society for being scared?” he added.

When City Spidey took up the matter with Rajeev Sharma, the general manager of Pan Oasis, he said that they would apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Noida Authority so they can have a proper firefighting system. He also said that they would increase the number of security guards and instal CCTV cameras soon.
