A heartwarming tale of quarantine birthday

The second wave of Covid-19 has affected all of our lives in ways we could never imagine. As much as it is important to maintain social distance and stay inside our homes, the warmth of physical touch and the sheer happiness one feels while meeting their loved ones is unmatchable and is something we all need right now.

Ram Avtar Naiyar is a resident of Rohini Sector-13. He is a senior citizen and has been working extensively to help people in dire need of oxygen, oximeters, food and so on. He is also the PRO of Federation of CGHS, Rohini. Although he has been helping people out in these tough times, he was helpless as he couldn’t go and celebrate the birthday of his granddaughter, Nurit Naiyar who lives in East of Kailash with her parents. He couldn’t go so as to adhere to the social distancing norms.

However, he informed about the same to SHO Praveen Kumar who instantly asked a constable to go to Nurit’s home with a cake and a gift. The constable showed up and surprised Naiyar's granddaughter. They also did a video call with him that made both of them extremely happy.

Such incidents make us believe in humanity again and we realise the importance of being able to go and meet our loved ones. This act of kindness of Delhi Police is not only heartwarming but also brought happiness on the faces of the little girl and her grandfather. Delhi Police is indeed ‘Dil ki Police’.
