A 17-year-old boy was found lying in a pool of blood near Tower E of Aditya Mega City, Sector 22, Indirapuram, on Wednesday. The incident has led the residents to point fingers at the lax security inside the complex.
The victim, Varun Rajput, a resident, was discovered by the security guards. The residents informed the police, who rushed him to Shanti Gopal Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
The police identified the boy after receiving a call on his phone. Initial investigations revealed that he was having a love affair with a girl in the same society, but had broken up with her a week back.
Madan Rajput, the victim’s father, told City Spidey that he suspected foul play. He even added that he suspected the police of attempting to cover up the incident, as the blood from the spot had been washed off. He also alleged that it was a case of "kidnapping and murder", as the father of the girl with whom his son was having an affair was not too happy about the relationship. He has lodged a police complaint, based on which the police have filed an FIR against the girl’s father at the Indirapuram police station.
Speaking to City Spidey, police DSP Atul Yaday, circle officer of Indirapuram, said the police was investigating the matter and are yet to ascertain the cause of death. “For now, we are considering all possible angles,” Yadav added.
Police officials said the footage from CCTV cameras installed inside the society have failed to provide any conclusive leads, since they didn't capture any good-quality footage.
Residents are concerned about the sorry state of security in the society. They say the society had several PG accommodations and coaching classes for students of VIII-XII — something that made the security situation even worse.
VK Sinha, the AOA president, told City Spidey, “We have taken note of the situation. We are going to beef up security measures and ensure that such incidents are prevented in future.”
