Grooming — Essential before heading out to party

"Grooming is the secret of real elegance. The best clothes, the most wonderful jewels, the most glamorous beauty don't count without good grooming," said Christian Dior. 

Simply wearing a nice dress, top, shirt, a saree, a lehenga or pant-suits is not enough now, you have to take care of tons of other things before heading out for a party. 

Before clothes, you need to make sure that you have done your skincare regime, your nails are polished and hands manicured, your hair is washed and settled and a lot of so many other things. Such habits and grooming are just as important as what you choose to wear to a party. 

To help all you women out, we have created a checklist you can follow before heading out to a party: 

Hairstyle 

When your hair is semi-dry, apply a serum of your choice. Avoid applying serum on dry hair. If it is a big event, get your hair chopped at least a month before the party.  

If your dress is over the top, keep your hairstyle simple. That should balance out the look.

Face cleansing 

Facial massage, upper lips, eye-brows threading, waxing or bleach should be done at least three to four days prior. After-effects of these treatments are redness, pimples and puffiness on the skin. If you do it on the day of the party, it is bound to spoil your look.

Good perfume

Putting perfume is a must, especially before heading to a party. Avoid choosing a strong fragrance perfume, rather choose a sweet and fruity scent. Other scented notes like rose, floral, white floral, vanilla, woody, and sweet are a good option as they are pleasing. Make sure the perfume of your choice is long-lasting.  

Clothes 

Do not go overboard when going to a party. Pick up colours that suit your complexion and body type. 

Two tips to follow:

Western: Pick elegant dresses with colours suitable to the occasion. Make sure you look chic with minimal effort and if you decide to go over the top, don’t be afraid.

Ethnic: Avoid wearing heavy jewelry and high heels if not required. You will end up juggling these things and will not be able to enjoy the party. 

Body touch up

Make sure to cut your nails and polish them properly. Manicure and pedicure are essential before going to a party. Nail art should be normal yet classy. Avoid attaching too big or conical nail extensions while getting a nail art done.
