Noida Authority plans mediation meetings with builders, AOAs

Noida: The Noida Authority on Thursday informed that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ritu Maheshwari will be conducting mediation meetings with the builders and Apartment Owners Associations (AOAs) at regular intervals to resolve their issues.

These meetings will be conducted to address the builder-buyer conflicts. They have also specified dates for meetings with respective builders and AOAs.

CitySpidey talked to many AOAs/RWAs to know about their views on the authority's move. Arun Sharma, President of Supertech Apartments said, “These meetings are just an eyewash. We had three such meetings with the Noida Authority earlier. These meetings are just conducted to buy some time. They don't review and ensure implementation of the decisions and orders passed in such meetings.”

Prabhat Vats, Secretary of Prateek Laurel's AOA said, “We are struggling to receive the Interest Free Maintenance Security (IFMS) and the interest incurred due to delay. This is a great initiative from the UP government and Noida Authority. We believe that we should now be in a position to streamline the handover process from the builder and also be able to ensure that AOAs receive their IFMS amount without any further delay.”

“We welcome this initiative by the Noida Authority and the UP government. The administration needs to reach out to more such highrise societies where buyers have been suffering for a long time. Such mediation camps should also be held in societies with AOAs along with resident groups participation so that we can avoid any future conflicts,” said Rajiva Singh, President, NOFAA.

President of Federation of Noida and Greater Noida Apartments Owners Association (FONAA), Sandeep Singh Chauhan said, “Noida Authority is responsible for most of the issues between the builder and buyers. They issue occupation certificates (Ocs) and completion certificates (CCs) to incomplete projects. The authority should take action on the earlier mediation meetings first so that a trust is developed among the AOAs.”
