Facebook Inc. has changed its name to 'Meta' to emphasise its metaverse vision, sending social media go bonkers. When the new brand name and logo were revealed, it sparked an outpouring of memes and jokes and criticism for the new name.
However, only the parent company's name has changed. Individual platforms' names, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp remain unchanged. According to Zuckerberg, "Facebook" does not fully encompass everything the company does now and is still closely associated with one product.
