In order to keep a check on the increasing crimes in Greater Noida West, Gautam Budh Nagar police have started to install high-definition cameras on seven roundabouts of the region. The installation of CCTV cameras is to be done phase-wise. In the first phase, around 25 cameras have been installed at Char Murti chowk, eight cameras on the Ek Murti and Tigri barrier, four cameras each on Shahberi, Ace city, Hanuman mandir and ATS roundabout.
Yogendra Singh, ACP Bisrakh Police says, “The cameras have been installed with help of the Greater Noida Authority, local public and with support of police funding. These will aid in checking the cases of crime in Greater Noida West. The cameras are sharp enough to be able to read the number plate of vehicles.”

While talking about the need to install cameras, Ranjana Bharadwaj (42), a resident of Supertech Eco-Village 2 says, “Recently, there was a case of phone snatching in front of my society even though the guards was present nearby. Installing CCTV cameras will be helpful but more CCTV cameras should be installed in deserted places to stop crimes. These cameras will also be helpful in improving the safety of women in the city.”
Manish Kumar, Vice President of NEFOWA says, “The cases of snatching have become common nowadays in Greater Noida West. With the help of cameras, it will be easier to catch the snatchers and it will be easy to understand the situation. Now it is on traffic police, how they will utilise the cameras to stop the crime in the city.”
