'Happy' Holi in Dwarka- Societies begin preparations for Holi 2022

When I last saw, a small group of people including RWA members were going door to door at Peepal Apartments Sector 17E asking for a contribution to organise a Holi celebration and community feast for the entire society on Holi day. There was happiness on their faces as they made plans for Holi celebrations.

As gathered from the RWAs and management, special events are being organized in almost all the societies of Dwarka. This year, Holi will be celebrated zealously in Dwarka, after two years, without fear of rising corona cases. Different RWAs and management of the societies inform that this year's celebrations are aimed at bringing back the zeal of Holi which was lost during the pandemic crisis.

Radhika Apartments Sector 14 Pocket 1 is going to celebrate Holi at the community level. President of RWA, Radhika Apartments, Surendra Mishra said, “This year, we want to forget the depressing period of Covid since 2020 and enjoy completely. We have planned our celebration at the society level with colours and sweets like it used to happen before the Pandemic.”

President of Federation of RWAs Sector 9 and president of Ganpati Apartments Sector 9, KS Bhati said, “We are organizing all activities which we used to do earlier on Holi before the pandemic. We have planned Holika Dahan, a colourful Holi celebration followed by lunch for the entire society.”

Meanwhile, celebrations have started in the city and many activities like Holi Milan are being organised by social organisations, RWAs and even the political leaders to express harmony on the occasion.

Robin Sharma, Senior vice president of All Dwarka Resident Federation, an umbrella body of different residents bodies and social organisations says, “We as an organisation have dedicated our celebration to the happiness of the people of Dwarka. We will be having a grand Holi Milan celebration so that maximum people from the community can meet and feel the warmth of the occasion."

Ramesh Mumukshu a social activist from Dwarka says, “This year, it seems that the pandemic is over and the lives of people have returned to normalcy to a good extent. I am happy that people are now meeting each other and a message of love and harmony is being spread. Dwarka truly seems to be witnessing a happy Holi this year."
