Dwarka: The residents of Sector 19, Pocket 3 of Dwarka are alleging that their homes are being supplied with contaminated water by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). The residents are furious as this negligence by the authority is proving to be a grave risk to their health. They share that the issue of contaminated water supply has been there for months and about half of the flats in the societies of the pocket are affected from it.

Prakash Singh, a resident of Sector 19, Pocket 3, who has been complaining about the issue to multiple authorities, says, “There are more than 1100 flats, and about half of them are affected due to this problem. People are also falling ill because of the contaminated water.”

Gomti Mattu, Secretary of All Dwarka Resident Federation (ADRF) and a resident of the pocket say that the officials are not paying heed to the issue while people are suffering. “We have approached almost all the higher officials, from DJB to Delhi Administration and even CM office, but still the problem hasn't been resolved”, says she.

As informed by Prakash Singh, about five months back, all the ferrules were changed by DJB but even that didn't resolve the problem. Residents are now taking it to social media to highlight the issue.

On the subject, one of the DJB officials, on the condition of anonymity has confirmed to check the issue and do the needful.
