Delhi: Delhi's Lt. Governor Anil Baijal, the centre's representative to the capital, has resigned from the position citing 'personal reasons'. He has handed over his resignation to President Ram Nath Kovind.
Baijal, a retired civil servant, had taken over as the Lt Governor of Delhi in December 2016. His tenure of five years has ended.
Baijal is a 1969 batch IAS and previously, he has served as Union Home Secretary under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and has held other key positions as well.
