Artist Hemant Malhotra is truly inspired by nature and the colours it is made of. A walk through the ongoing exhibition of his work, on view at Shridharani Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House, is a proof of his love for nature.
Hemant presents a series of acrylics done in abstract and semi-abstract where he has largely done away with form and uses pure colours as his language of depiction. He has been rather successful in his endeavour. A few brush strokes create a flower, autumn season, a cascading waterfall and much more. His exhibition titled “Expressions of Nature” is on till May 31, 2022.
Says he, “The moments captured in these works are but fleeting moments and fade from our memory soon after they are seen in reality. I have tried to represent the beautiful colours of nature, from the blacks to the bright reds, blues and magentas as seen in the skyline. The series on seasons has depiction of trees in abstract form in different colours. The seasons represented are winter, spring, summer, monsoon, spring, and autumn."
