Dwarka: SDKS observe Shaheedi Diwas with a community meal

Dwarka: Sukh Dukh ke Sathi(SDKS) sanstha, a social group of senior citizens, observed Shahdee Divas and Nirzala Akdeshi on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Sadbhavna Chowk, sector 22. On the occasion, members of the sanstha and some community members served sweet drinks and kadi chawal to passers-by.

Long queues were seen from 11.00 am to 1.30 pm as several commuters stopped to enjoy this meal. Moreover, students and their families appearing for an examination in Paramount School in sector 23 also enjoyed the refreshing drink. As gathered, the program was conceptualised by Capt SS Mann, president of SDKS and some members of the managing committee.

SS Mann says, “This was a collective effort from the community and we are happy that we could do something for them in this hot summer. It was wonderful to see women and youth take such keen interest in serving the community during the rush hour."

Secretary of SDKS, DC Mathur says, “The event turned out to be very successful. Commuters could enjoy much-needed refreshments without having to go anywhere."
