Ghaziabad: The senior citizens of Niti Khand 3, Indirapuram have raised the demand for toilets in the central park. According to them, it is a necessity as they cannot rush home for the same, owing to several health issues. However, this demand of theirs has met with criticism from other residents citing that it is an unnecessary demand.
The RWA president of Niti Khand 3, Parvinder Yadav, tells us that they have discussed this issue several times during RWA meetings but nothing has come out yet. He also tells us that the matter has been put forth to the Ghaziabad Development Authority, however, the authority has rejected the proposal several times. He further says, "I will do everything in my power to persuade the residents and the GDA to build toilets in the park."
Ramakant, 71, a resident of Niti Khand 3, says, "We have requested everyone to agree to this demand. My doctor has advised me to go for morning and evening walks as I am diabetic. I find it difficult to go home to pee at times, which is why we want a public toilet."
Shamo Rao, a senior citizen of Niti Khand 3, tells us that if a toilet is built in the park, it will allow elderly people to stay in the park for longer periods of time without any worry.
