As the sun goes down, the bright lights of Chawri Bazar fill the space. The kebabs, fresh and juicy are put on the smoked grill and later marinated with warm butter and onion rings before serving. The resulting aroma and flavours of this delectable combination attract many to the famous and oldest kebab shop near Jama Masjid, the Qureshi kebab corner.

The secret recipe of 72-year-old Qureshi kebab was created by Haji Abdul Ghani Qureshi who passed it on to his sons. The shop is now run by his grandchildren popularly known as the Qureshi brothers, Ajmal, Amjad, Ershad, Salman, and Arshad who are carrying this legacy forward.

At Qureshi kebab corner, the kabab is served with lots of melted butter on it and with rumali roti, onions and chutney. The perfect mix of spices and texture can make you drool and certainly leave you craving for more. They have 3 different varieties of kebabs namely chicken seekh kabab, mutton kebab, and fish kebab.

With their success, the Qureshi brothers have created a designer space for families. During our visit, CitySpidey witnessed people from far-flung places who had exclusively come to try Qureshi Kebab corner. Ramesh Kapoor from Ghaziabad says, “I am not a kebab lover, but after eating their kebabs, I will tell my relatives and friends to come here as these are a must-try."

We came across a group of friends Jyoti, Khushi, and Kamaldeep. They had come from Uttam Nagar. Khushi says, “We loved their kababs. It's even tastier than we had thought." Basheer, a regular customer says, “I have been coming here for the past 9 years as these are my kebabs."

Apart from kebabs, their menu also offers chicken tandoori, chicken tikka, butter chicken, biryani, chicken korma, and chicken changezi. One seekh of kebabs can be enjoyed for just Rs 35, and the average cost for two people is Rs 400.
