Noida: A patriotic celebration of 'Kargil Diwas' by Arun Vihar residents

Noida: The residents of Arun Vihar, Sector 37, Noida, celebrated the occasion of Kargil Diwas on July 26, 2022 with zeal and zest. An event was organised at the crossroads of Sector 29 and 37, Noida in Arun Vihar. Family members of the brave soldiers who were a part of the war were felicitated. The sacrifices of all the Kargil heroes were also honoured on the occasion.

The family members of the Kargil heroes and some Kargil heroes themselves who were present at the occasion shared their memories of the war. A 'Badging Ceremony' was also organised where those who attended the event were honoured with badges.

The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the 'Kargil Square' at the crossing of Sector 29 and 37, adjacent to the Bhardwaj Hospital. The Managing Committee of AVRWA designed and commissioned the wall at the crossing. More than 250 residents of Arun Vihar were a part of the occasion. Prominent amongst them were Lt Gen GL Bakshi, Lt Gen S Verma, Lt Gen Y K Bammi, Lt.Gen SK Singh, Maj Gen DK Sen & other members of Noida Shaheed Smarak Sanstha.

Children of four schools of Arun Vihar, namely Arya Samaj, Arun Vihar Nai Disha, Amar Public School, and SOF along with their Principals and teachers, performed patriotic songs at the event.
