A general meeting of the Senior citizens' welfare committee was organized in the Prateek Laurel society, sector 120, Laurel club on July 24, 2022. Nearly 100 members of the community attended the meeting.

Prabhat Mani Vats, President of the committee says, "Our society takes care of senior citizens. We conduct meetings regularly and plan activities to keep them engaged and updated."

During the meeting, Sukhbir Singh Raghav, Secretary of the senior citizen's committee announced a few important decisions. He said that Classes will be organized for senior citizens to give basic knowledge of smartphones and computers with the help of the Age well foundation. Moreover, all members of the senior citizen committee would be taken for an outstation tour when the time and situation are favourable.

In the meeting, the treasurer presented the income and expenditure accounts for the financial year (2021-2022) which was passed by GBM.

The achievements of the society were discussed in the meeting. Later, a pleasant atmosphere was created by a flute performance and refreshments.

The members were informed about the efforts taken by the committee to get rid of the increasing incidents of stray dogs biting. In this regard, the Secretary registered a complaint by writing a mail to the CEO (GBN), DM GBN and CP GBN and also the delegation.

Prabhat Mani Vats says, “There was the problem of stray dogs and we have solved it very effectively. Recently, a stray dog bite case took place in Prateek Laurel Society. On this, an emergency meeting was called by the AOA, in which the animal welfare committee of the PL AOA suggested making a feeding zone outside the society. We have also hired a dog trainer. We are also in contact with the authorities to prevent this problem."

Moreover, a free vaccination camp was organized by the committee in collaboration with CMO Gautam Buddha Nagar on June 6, 2022, in the society. Nearly 60 people availed of this facility.
