We can't control our excitement when a new episode of Koffee With Karan 7 by Karan Johar airs! This time, it was double the excitement as two of Bollywood's most desirable actors, Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra, graced the Koffee couch. The Punjabi boys of B-town revealed some details about their personal and professional life. The trio indulged in some memes, comments and juicy details on romantic relationships. It was finally officially revealed that Kiara and Sid are dating.
The episode starts with how Katrina and Vicky's marriage occurred because of Karan's manifestation couch. Vicky Kaushal appeared a happily married man who married his crush. He shared how Katrina 'grounds' him and, 'says hard things' that he needs to know. He described finding her as a 'lucky charm' for him. Along with talking about all the romantic stuff, he also got a glimpse into his married life, revealing that Katrina has taken up all of his closet space, which means that one day it might be down to just a drawer.
In talking about the actor's partners, Vicky seemed at ease discussing his relationship with Katrina. At the same time, Sidharth Malhotra was uncomfortable and embarrassed when KJo pushed him to talk about his romance with Kiara Advani. Without any answer, Johar took it upon himself to refer to Kiara as his "lover" as Malhotra sat there grinning artificially, but how he reciprocated was obvious. Finally, he gave in and accepted.
If anyone can make a person spills beans about their personal lives, it is the OG of Bollywood Karan Johar. In his defence, "He just loves when there is love in the air." Yet again, with his magical powers of gossiping and intruding into people's lives, he made Kiara and Siddharth talk about their secret relationship. The couple is dating in real life, while others are manifesting their marriage.
Apart from the handsome boys, host Karan stole this show with his honest candour on Student of the Year. It was funny how he made fun of his film. He admitted that SOTY has no logic or script and so Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth did not bag any debut awards. He acknowledged there was "no writing" and "no scope for any performance" in the movie. It's stimulating to know that the director at least is aware of the reality of his films.
Following the discussions on movies and relationships, a racy rapid-fire round ensued. For the first time this season, the Rapid Fire was very close. The episode also revealed some details that Vicky was in fact assisting Anurag Kashyap in Gangs of Wasseypur. Both actors agreed that Karan could never be a part of that film. "Imagine Karan Johar wearing Gucci and Prada clothing and appearing in Gangs of Wasseypur," chuckled Sid.
This episode has a Punjabi vibe and some light and funny moments up its sleeves. It was good to see two contemporaries together on the couch talking about their struggles and heights throughout their Bollywood careers.
