GB Nagar- Rain makes pothole-ridden roads unsafe for commuters

GB Nagar:The poor condition of roads is an age-old resident concern in Noida and Greater Noida. Area residents complain that after the recent rains, the condition of roads in Sector 18 Noida, Sector 37, and Gaur City 2 in Greno West have become even worse with water being filled in potholes.

According to the residents, the condition of the road has been deteriorating over the past several years. Several commuters have pointed out that after the rain, it has become difficult for them to fathom the depth of potholes which can prove fatal. Many of them have highlighted the issue with the help of tweets.

NEFOWA in a tweet points out that the temporary patchwork made by GNIDA at Tech Zone 4 and Hanuman Mandir Road is not providing a lasting solution as the pits re-emerged in 15 days.

Although the residents have been outspoken about their dissatisfaction with the condition of the roads for several years, they allege that little or no action has been taken by the authorities concerned.

Neetu Shukla, a resident of Shri Radha Sky Gardens in Greno West says, "This is something we've been dealing with for more than the past two years. I don't know why isn't the Authority filling all the potholes. The pothole-ridden roads also create more traffic congestion as commuters have to take alternate turns to avoid potholes."

Kushal Sharan, a resident of Gaur City, GreNo West says, "All the working professionals who are busy with 9 to 5 jobs cannot skip work. In such a case, these roads are a potential risk for residents. These roads can especially be dangerous after the dark."

Mansi Ranjan, 22, a resident of Arun Vihar sector 37, Noida says, "The roads have been in a poor condition for so long that we have become used to it. The Authority must realize that this is a life risk for residents."
