Karwa Chauth is considered one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar which will be celebrated on October 13th, 2022 this year. This day celebrates the unbreakable bond between the husband and wife. Wives keep fast for their husband's longevity. The fast starts after sunrise and ends with the moonrise. Women see this day as an important celebration in their married life. As the women gear up for the celebration and pray, food will be an important concern on this day.
After not even a sip of water for the entire day, you will require good quality food to satisfy your hunger. The food must be prepared mindfully. It must contain a good amount of Nutrition and vitamins to fulfill the need of your body. But no worries, we are here with some amazing recipes to satisfy your hunger and guide you with some amazing recipes for karwa Chauth dinner.

Dry fruits

Add some sugar and dry fruits to your food to break your fast! You can go for some dry fruits ‘kheer’ like, ‘makhana kheer' or ‘dates kheer’. You just need milk, sugar, and dry fruits. Heat the milk, and add sugar, saffron, cardamom, and your preferable dry fruit. If you want to add some more items then you can add vermicelli or rice, this will make the dish wholesome and filling. Garnish your sweet dish with some dry fruits and serve.
If you want some other options for a sweet dish then you can go for ‘badaam ka halwa’. You just need some almonds and soak them in water for 2 hrs. Peel them  and roast them in ghee. Add sugar, saffron, and cardamom powder. Garnish with some almonds and pistachio and serve it hot!

Drinks

Something liquid is a must after a day long fast. You can have lassi or juice of fruits. For making lassi, take curd add some sugar, and some dry fruits (optional). Mix the ingredients well and serve them by garnishing saffron and dry fruits as toppings.
You can have pineapple juice or sugarcane juice as a refreshment. If you want to go for something warm, make some tomato soup for yourself and your family. Boil the tomatoes, add some more vegetables like beans, beetroot, and bottle guard, and let them cool down for a while. Mash them in a bowl and strain them through a refined ‘chalni’. Add some salt, sugar, butter, and spices as per taste and serve it with coriander leaves.

Main course

After a good start, you will require some delicious and fulfilling main course. Add variety to your food, it will help you get all types of nutrients in the meal.

Paneer

Make paneer butter masala. Saute the paneer in butter and keep it aside. For making the gravy, grind the fried onion, and tomatoes and saute the purey, add species and the paneer. Garnish it with some coriander leaves.

Dal makhani

Add some lentils to your meal for a quick source of protein. You can soak a whole black dal and kidney beans for 2 hours and then boil it for your dinner. Fry onion garlic paste, tomatoes, and spices and add the boiled dal and kidney beans in it. Add some butter, coriander leaves, and lemon juice!

Naan/ roti


You must make naan or rotis for serving it with the dishes mentioned above. You can make wheat flour rotis or can go for refined flour according to your choice. For a replacement for rotis, you can have jeera rice too. Prepare and plan for your karwa Chauth dinner and wait for the moon to eat those dishes
