Noida: After nearly 2 years, festivals have regained their lost glory as community gatherings become possible once again. After the massive Durga Puja and Navaratri celebrations, it is now time for Diwali.

There is a wave of excitement, and happiness in the community as Diwali arrives this year without Covid fear. With just a few days left to the day, people have already started cleaning their homes and decorating their spaces with lights.

CitySpidey reached out to some residents in Noida to capture the Diwali preparations and excitement-

Subroto Upadhaya, the President of Matri Peeth Kali Bari, Greater Noida West says

, "This is the year to celebrate festivals. Recently, we all gathered wholeheartedly in the Durga Puja celebrations. Cultural activities like traditional dance, singing or skit, etc were held and people enjoyed till late at night just like they used to do. Now we are eager to celebrate the upcoming festivals Diwali and Kali puja. People have contributed both in terms of cash and kind."

Kriti Gaur, a resident of Prateek Wisteria says,

"The ladies club from Prateek Wisteria have already begun the Pre Diwali party this year. We will have our Diwali Mela on the society premise on October 21st. I am happy that things have become normal again.

Brajesh Sharma, a resident of Antariksh Golf View 2, sector-78 Noida

says, "Many people from the entire nation lost their loved ones while combating the Demon Corona. I hope nothing like that ever happens again. I hope that the festival of light brings hope into people's lives. They can move on and celebrate festivities again."

Sushil Kumar Jain, President of Sector-18 Market Association says,

"This year's Diwali celebration is providing traders all around the nation tremendous business prospects. It is anticipated that over 2.5 lakh crores of liquidity would enter the market through festive purchases and other Diwali-related services. The markets of Noida are anticipated to see an influx of more than 5,000 crores."

Indrani Mukherjee, President of Central Noida Puja Committee says,

"Since gatherings were not allowed for the last two years, we did not have Kali Puja celebrations. With the permission of the Authority, the Puja was live-streamed for the devotees. This year, we are pleased that devotees will attend the Puja in person."

Sachin Goyal, a resident of JM Orchid Sector-76, says,

"After almost two years, Noida residents are eager to celebrate Diwali. Corona was a difficult time but it taught us a lot. Noida residents are in a festive mood. In contrast to the Covid period, everyone has made plans to visit their family or friends' homes. However, also need to take safety and security measures for our children."
