Palm Olympia: Man escapes attack by a group of dogs

GreNo West: The incidents of dog biting are not uncommon in Noida and Noida extension. Lately, several dog biting cases have come into light, instilling a fear of dogs in residents' minds. A similar incident was reported on December 4, 2022 in Palm Olympia society, Gaur City 2, Greater Noida West. A resident of the society, Sidharth Kumar was attacked by 4-5 stray dogs, however, he luckily escaped and no dog bit him.

Sidharth Kumar, while recalling the incident tells us, "My nephew was attacked by a stray dog at 1 pm in the society premises on the same day. Luckily, he was saved by the tower's security guard and security in charge. I went down to check the CCTV. After watching the footage, I went to click a picture of the dog to circulate it in our social media groups and make people aware. When I reached there and was clicking the picture, someone was feeding the dog. After a while, that dog and some other stray dogs as well ran towards me to attack me."

The residents of the society are angry over furious dog attack incidents.

A resident, on condition of anonymity, says, "We are tired of the dog menace. The stray dogs are creating so much problems in our society. We will go to the police station soon with a lawyer so that we can find some proper solution to this problem."

He continues, "There are signboards in the society which ask people to not feed the dogs inside the society premises but these instructions are not followed."

To understand the issue more closely, we contacted Sahil Sharma, a dog lover who was feeding the dog on the day of the incident. He informed us that he is adhering to the guidelines while feeding the dogs and not doing anything unethical.

"I am a compassionate dog lover I do not deny that. I was the one taking care of the dogs during the Covid time. We save the lives of dogs and get them vaccinated and sterilised. Society people don't approve of feeding the dogs inside the society premises but this vision is not right, as relocation of dogs is illegal," says he.
