Residents informed that the tower where the fire took place, is the newly constructed tower. Some construction work is still going on in the tower and the possession of flats in that tower was recently granted.

Residents allege that the fire equipment in the tower did not work properly. Giriraj Bahedia, a resident of Assotech Windsor Court says, " In the evening, a fire incident took place in the E tower. The suspicion is that the a shot circuit caused the fire due to the overheating of the blower.  First, the bed caught fire which later spread to the entire flat."Pabitra, General Secretary, Assotech Windsor Court says, "Our society is not adequately equipped for fire safety. A lot of times, we have hold a meeting to inform the authorities about this issue since 2019 but nothing as been done so far. In July 2018, the fire department filed a complaint against the builder in the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Surajpur, after witnessing loopholes in the firefighting system of our society. We wrote many emails to the fire department. Later in 2021, after many follow ups, we were informed that the case has been closed and the builder was fined rupees 50,000 in the Chief Judicial Magistrate court. In the meeting with the builder, they promised to conduct a fire inspection and mock drills but nothing has been done. The fire pumps have arrived in the society due to the pressure from the fire department, but the pump room has not been set up yet."

He continues, "In the E tower, there are 25 floors. There is water pipeline but no sprinklers there."

Naresh Mittal, another resident of Assotech Windsor Court says, "This is not the first time a fire incident has happened in our society. Every time, the builder brushes us off with some lame excuse. Despite the lack of basic facilities, the builder is increasing CAM charges."

We tried to contact the Facility manager of the society but couldn't reach him.
