Noida: Rekindle your love for nature at Tuk Tuk Gilhari farms

Noida: Amidst the concrete jungle of Noida, there is hardly any escape from the fast paced city life. The high rises in Noida make it difficult to spend some time in the lap of nature. However, Rashi Anand and Shagun Singh, two residents of Noida, have created a space where you can go and have fun in lush green lawns along with farm animals. The place is called Tuk Tuk Gilhari and it is a petting farm and retreat in Noida.

While talking about why they decided to open this place, founder Rashi Anand tell us, "We wanted a fun and frolic place amidst the nature for the complete family, where they can come and play with the farm animals such as dogs, cats, pigs, horses, donkeys, horses, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, guinea pigs, cows and much more."

Almost all the animals in the farm are rescued. These animals were stray and abandoned. Shagun Singh and Rashi Anand decided to rescue them and provide them a safe shelter. All the animals here are Kaju the cow, Kishmish the calf, Tara the donkey, Chand the horse, Rajjo and Bubbly, the goats and Champa, Bijli and Chameli, the baby sheep.

Rashi Anand, one of the founders says, "We came up with this idea because I am a mom and Shagun is an entrepreneur. So it is obvious, we understood the need of the hour that all parents go through. We have put all our thoughts and efforts accordingly. Children love pets, and nowadays, an important element of childhood is missing as the flats are small and there are no spaces left in houses where kids can connect with nature. So we have come up with this place where every child is welcome to come and play with these farm animals."

She continues, "Interaction with the animals is one of the most effective ways of teaching children the virtues of kindness and compassion, understanding the animal behaviour. This is what we wish to do with this farm."

These entrepreneurs are working towards developing the country's first ever 100% eco-friendly animal farm, built with natural materials, and integrated solar energy, rainwater harvesting, water recycling and waste management system. On this farm, the houses are made of mud, cow dung and bamboo. The roofs are made of rice straws. The doors here are taken from a demolition site while the wash basin and other things are made from broken, discarded elements."

So, if you're planning to spend a day outdoors with your kids in Noida, you know where to go.
