Dwarka: Community people from various sectors and societies celebrated Basant Panchami on Saturday with kids from underprivileged sections of the society at Sector 4 MCD Park. The celebration was organised by Choti Si Khushi, an NGO from Dwarka working on the education and welfare of kids from underprivileged sections.
Different types of cultural activities were performed by the kids on the occasion. They staged street play and also showcased their artistic skills through art on kites made by them. People including volunteers of the NGO from different societies of Dwarka too participated with kids to make the occasion memorable.
DCP Dwarka M Harshavardhan was the chief guest during the event while retired ACP and a known face of Delhi Police Rajender Singh was present as guest of honour. Both the dignitaries talked to the kids and inspired them to go higher in life.
DCP Dwarka M Harshavardhan distributed medals to the kids who performed well in the annual sports events earlier by Choti Si Khushi. He encouraged the kids and blessed them with his words.
