Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority is going to introduce 100 new buses for the residents who commute on a daily basis from the residential areas of Greater Noida to Noida based metro stations. This service will be specifically launched for the convenience of those who reside in Greater Noida zone and face difficulties in reaching Noida.

It has been declared by the authority that all these buses will connect six metro stations which are normally being used by the residents of Greater Noida. As per the sources, there is a possibility of starting this bus service by the end of March, 2023.

According to the Noida Metro Railway Corporation, around 15,000 people reach these Noida based  metro stations every day from Greater Noida but they face huge trouble to reach there and they need to spend huge money as conveyance fare for travelling by autos and cabs every day. Apart from travelling expenses people invest huge time and sometimes they have to walk down to reach their destinations.

Anand Vardhan, Additional Chief Executive Officer of GNIAD, has explained that the authority has planned to provide better connectivity to the people traveling in the metro from different areas of Greater Noida. For this, it has been decided by the authority to operate 100 buses from different routes. With the operation of these buses, better transport facilities will be available from different residential areas to the metro station.

The process of the tender will be issued soon regarding this. There will also be an agreement with the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) regarding this so that this facility can be available. According to the CEO, after issuing the tender process, the details of all routes, timings, fares and other technical information will be determined and after signing the official agreement, decisions might be taken to determine the fare.

Meanwhile, the Greater Noida Authority had proposed 25 E-buses on the Greater Noida to Ghaziabad route in June 2022 but due to the introduction of the proposed 100 buses, this project has also been postponed for time being. GNIDA has extended a related agreement with Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) which operates city connectivity buses especially for Pari Chowk, Surajpur, PI-3, Knowledge Park 2 and GB University.

GNIDA started operating city buses from 6.30 am to 6.30 pm on five routes in January last year under an agreement with UPSRTC. So it will be such a great facility if the service gets started from March, 2023 onwards because people who are based in Greater Noida but working in Delhi face huge difficulties in travelling. It will be easier and safer for every commuter including the female passengers who are sometimes worried about their safety during long journeys. Most importantly it will be saving extra expenses for everyone.
