Spring is a great time to experiment with fashion because the days are a mix of warm and cool. You might be excited to pull out your shorts and sleeveless tops for the warm weather, but you might need to layer your outfit to stay warm. No matter what your style is, you can put together fun and easy spring looks for any event.

Here are some tips:

Change up the floral dress

It's natural to gravitate towards floral prints when everything appears to be in bloom. Instead of the typical spring dress, try a matching floral crop top and skirt, or mix two different floral prints. To make a floral outfit look tougher, wear it with a denim jacket, athletic shoes, or combat boots. 

Learn the art of layering

A light jacket is the best way to prepare for cool spring weather. Always have spring outerwear on hand, whether it's a packable raincoat or a cashmere cardigan to tie around your waist when it gets hot. If you're expecting rain, make sure your trench coat is waterproof before venturing out.

Consider a long-sleeved spring dress

Dresses are the pinnacle of spring fashion. So, what should you do if the warm weather hasn't yet arrived in your area? If a sleeveless minidress is too cold, try a long-sleeved midi dress. Alternatively, layer a strappy sundress over a white tee or turtleneck and leggings.

Wear blazers with flowy skirts

When the weather warms up, pair a midi skirt with a plaid or houndstooth blazer to make it work-appropriate. A belt completes the look. Not a fan of skirts? Consider a lightweight jumpsuit.  footwear should consist of loafers or flats with no-show socks.

For outerwear, go with an oversized shirt

If you can't find a great lightweight jacket, try an oversize or men's button-up shirt in light-wash denim. It looks just as good over a tight T-shirt and mom jeans as it does over a silk cami. In the summer, it can be worn over a bikini as a mini-shirt dress.

Get rid of your skinny jeans

Straight-leg white jeans and denim are both excellent spring looks. Slim jeans? Not at all. To increase air circulation, choose a wide-leg or straight-leg cut.

Accept white sneakers

Sneakers are a great option for spring when it's too hot for sandals but too cold for booties. White sneakers add a crisp, clean touch to your spring ensemble. Throw them in the washing machine when they get dirty, and your white sneakers will be as good as new.
