The community of Dwarka is currently observing Janaushadhi week, an initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote the use of Janaushadhi centres across the country. The event is being celebrated as the 5th week since its inception.
The week started with a walk to raise awareness about Janaushadhi. On Thursday, a large number of people from different sectors, societies, NGOs, and social organizations participated in an event organized at the market premises of Sector 6. The former MLA of the area, Rajesh Gehlot, also attended the event.
On Friday, the event focused on women, and hundreds of women from the community participated. The area Councillor, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, was present and addressed the gathering, sharing her thoughts on women's empowerment and the importance of Janaushadhi. The Neighborhood Ladies Get-together association was a significant part of the event, and its women members actively participated.
Robin Sharma, the Janaushadhi store coordinator at Sector 6 market, mentioned that the community's response to the event has been amazing. Each day of the week is observed with a particular theme, with Friday dedicated to women and Saturday dedicated to children.
