Noida: Residents of Noida were startled by a series of earthquakes that occurred last night between 10:21 p.m. and 10:29 p.m. The tremors were felt three times, each lasting between 5 to 8 minutes. The epicentre of the earthquake was located in Fayzabad, Afghanistan, according to the National Centre of Seismology. The earthquake measured 6.6 on the Richter scale and its effects were felt not only in Noida but also in the surrounding regions such as Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand.

The intensity of the earthquake caused panic among the residents, and many people rushed out of their homes to seek safety in open spaces. Fortunately, no fatalities or damage have been reported so far. The earthquake was also felt in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and some parts of Pakistan.

Residents of housing societies in Noida were particularly frightened by the tremors. They gathered in the society parks to support each other and wait out the situation. One resident reported that children in their homes started crying due to the chaos caused by the earthquake.
