“You become what you think “- Gautama Buddha the achiever of supreme wisdom explained it very clearly that our thoughts and frame of mind play the most crucial roles in our life. Gautama who was born as the prince in a royal family of Lumbini, Nepal was deeply touched by the sufferings of human beings and decided to find out the root of all agony that every individual go through in a lifetime. After years of hardships, sacrifices and soul-searching, Gautama achieved the utmost understanding about the cycle of life and death and the misery in between. He could realize that all the sufferings or agony actually derive from  the desires that  every  individual possess  during  lifetime and unfulfilled wishes or desires could lead to more desires and thus  the  cycle of  sadness  would go  on and there would  be no escape from  the reality of life. His attainment of highest wisdom was regarded as the turning point in the history of human advancement. He was known as the wisest or ‘Bodhisattva’ and his sermon to five of his disciples enlightened the whole world.

 

Gautama Buddha, extensively revered as Lord Buddha after attainment of supreme wisdom, was the founder of Buddhism- the religion based on love, peace and non-violence which according to Gautama should the pivotal base of human life. He explained that to get rid of all sufferings in life one should achieve control over unending earthly desires and that would be regarded as real wisdom which would lead  us to a meaningful life.

 

Lord Buddha spread the message of love and peace all over the world and Buddhism crossed the boundaries and touched human life at its core. The religion is being embraced by millions of people worldwide. Siddhartha Gautama said that if we could light a lamp for others, definitely it would brighten up our way too.
