Greater Noida Authority starts Bartan Bank to protect environment

Greater Noida: A 'Bartan Bank' has been established by the Greno Authority in the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex where people can take free steel utensil sets (plates, glasses, and spoons) for parties, Bhandara, etc. The booking of these utensils is done 24 hours in advance. The initiative has been started to reduce the use of single-use plastic.

One needs to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 100 per transaction set in cash or by bank draft at the time of booking. Two ID proofs – an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID Card – also need to be submitted. Delay in the return of utensils after 24 hours will invite a penalty of Rs 5 per day per set for the first three days and after that Rs 10 per day.

Utensils will be accepted only in neat and clean condition. The applicant will bear the transportation cost of pick up and drop of the utensils.
