Greater Noida: Families Living In Uncertified Societies Demand Justice

Greater Noida: Surajpur Site C Group Housing, which includes Shivalik Homes, Migson Green Mansions, Newtech La-Galactica, and Oasis Venetian Heights Societies under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), has been facing a significant issue regarding the lack of Occupancy Certificate (OC), Completion Certificate (CC), and Registry for approximately 5,000 families residing in these societies.

This problem has persisted for the past seven years, during which builders, authority officials, local administration, and people's representatives have repeatedly made empty promises and provided deadlines that have not been fulfilled.

Buyers of flats in these societies made their purchases seven years ago, investing their hard-earned money and taking home loans from banks at high-interest rates. Despite diligently paying their home loan EMIs, they have been waiting for ownership rights for their flats for seven long years.

The residents of these societies have made numerous efforts over the past seven years to bring this issue to the attention of authorities, public representatives, and the government. However, these attempts have yielded no fruitful results, except for the data collection by UPSIDA for the group housing projects in Surajpur Site C Group. UPSIDA appointed SPA, Bhopal to review, analyse, and evaluate the housing and conduct regional surveys for these projects in March 2022. Although SPA, Bhopal completed the data collection, field survey, and analysis within the stipulated time frame, the report was delayed by thirteen months for reasons unknown, and it has yet to be presented to UPSIDA.

The flat buyers in the builder societies of Surajpur Site C Group Housing have grown weary of waiting for the registry and pleading with the authorities and public representatives. In response, the flat owners of Shivalik Homes, a builder society under UPSIDA in Surajpur Site C Group Housing, have initiated a symbolic protest called "Mera Ghar Meri Registry" (My Home, My Registry). In this protest, all the flat owners of the society are raising questions on their balconies regarding the demand for OC/CC and the Registry of their flats, directing their concerns towards the builder, administration, UPSIDA, and the government.

The "Mera Ghar Meri Registry" campaign will soon be launched in the other builder societies of Surajpur Site C Group Housing, including Migson Green Mansions, Newtech La-Galactica, and Oasis Venetian Heights. This symbolic protest aims to draw attention to the plight of the flat owners and urge the authorities and the government to address their long-standing grievances and facilitate the issuance of OC/CC and Registry for their flats.
