The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Delhi, in collaboration with National Law University, Delhi (NLUD), organised a One Billion Rising event on the university campus on February 14.

During the event, students from NLUD and YWCA participated in a dance performance to depict the OBR movement and the OBR theme for 2017, which is "Solidarity Against Exploitation Of Women". Students also performed Mahilao Ka Sangharsh, a street play, on the occasion.

Dr Prasannanshu, the convenor of the event and an NLUD professor, told City Spidey, “One Billion Rising is a global campaign to transform patriarchal structures and to end violence against women and girls. We organised the event to show our solidarity with the cause. The event is celebrated globally on February 14 every year.”

Ranbir Singh, vice-chancellor of NLUD, was the chief guest. M Devapriya, president of YWCA of Delhi, and Dr GS Bajpai, registrar of NLUD, were the guests of honour. Several other dignitaries from Dwarka, YWCA and NLUD were also present on the occasion.
