Residents of Exotica Fresco, an upscale residential complex in Sector 137, Noida, are an angry lot. A garbage-loaded tractor is unloading its silt waste on the other side of the road in front of the society’s entry gate.
Animesh Bhargava, a resident, complained to City Spidey, “Someone has dumped drain silt on the opposite side of the road in front of the society — it looks really ugly! The authorities should initiate action against this.”
Pramod Singh Taragi, another resident, said, “The silt pile lets out a horrible stench. Life has become very difficult for the residents. We are forced to breathe in this foul smell. And there’s no way we can overlook the situation, as the entry gate opens to it. It's the approach to the society, and the problem thus needs to be solved immediately.”
City Spidey spoke to Umesh Sharma, sanitation inspector with Noida Authority, twice, but he simply denied the situation. He added, “The complaints are dubious, and the residents need to bring along some proof of this piling garbage. There’s a landfill site in Sector 138, garbage dumping is permitted only there."
