The Sikandarpur underpass has been opened to commuters from March 14. The underpass, with three lanes each for to and fro traffic, was given a trial run on March 11.
The underpass comes as a relief to those commuting between Golf Course Road and Cyber City, especially those coming from Sikandarpur, DLF Phase I, Chakkarpur, Sector 27, Sector 28, Sector 43, Cyber City, DLF Phase II, Nathupur and DLF Phase III.
Moreover, two U-turn underpasses and four other underpasses were being planned from Genpact Chowk to Cyber City for three years; most of these are now either operational or about to be opened to commuters. This has made things easier for those travelling on the route, as they don’t have to face traffic at DLF Phase II, Nathupur Sabzi Mandi and Sikandarpur Metro station any more. Traffic from Cyber City can now take the underpass near DLF Phase II and exit near DT Mega Mall at DLF Phase 1.
This apart, an underpass near the IndusInd Bank Rapid Metro station will soon be opened to commuters. Thanks to this, traffic from Delhi near Cyber City going towards Iffco Chowk will no longer have to travel two extra kilometres.
