The managing committee of IFS Apartments, a residential society in Mayur Vihar Phase I, has asked the residents not to honk while entering or leaving the society.
The managing committee recently pasted banners at each gate of the society, with clear instructions to not honk. City Spidey tried to contact the managing committee but they were not available for comment.
However, a security guard deployed at one of the gates said that the committee has also issued notices to the residents in this regard. In order to avoid traffic congestion and honking of vehicles, the committee has also put a ban on entry of visitors’ vehicles.
“There is not much distance between the gate of the society and the flats on the front row. There are two security guards always on duty. However, when we fail to open the gate immediately, most people start honking relentlessly. This disturbs the residents living in nearby flats. That’s why the committee has pasted this notice here,” the security guard said on condition of anonymity.
