Tired of never-ending traffic jams in Sector 18, Noida, and the adjoining Atta market? Here is some relief on the way for shop owners and visitors alike.

Noida Authority's multi-level parking lot in the sector opposite Hotel Radisson is nearing completion and will be functional by the end of  the year. The cost of the project is estimated to be between Rs 300 to Rs 350 crore and it aims to tackle traffic congestion caused by haphazard parking.

According to Pradeep Kumar Prasad, a representative of the private company building the multi-level parking, “70 per cent of the work is complete and we are giving finishing touches to the parking lot. Once the project is completed, it  will house 3,000 vehicles at any given time.”

SC Mishra, project engineer of Noida Authority, said, “The multi-level parking facility has 8 floors and will have CCTV cameras installed for security. The parking fee for the first four hours would be Rs 20 for four-wheelers and Rs 10 for two-wheelers. Thereafter, an additional amount of Rs 5 would be charged per hour."

Rajeev Garg, general secretary of RWA, Sector 27, told City Spidey, "Noida Authority should make more of such parking lots in other sectors also as one multi-level parking is not enough to curb the menace of traffic jams in Noida."

“Due to shortage of parking space, people park their vehicles on the road which results in never-ending traffic jams,” said Akhil Dhanayi, a daily commuter.
