Despite several protests against arbitrary fee hikes in the city, none of the schools are rolling back their fees.
Cambridge School in Sector 27, Noida, is the latest in the long list of schools hiking fees.
About 200 parents met at Noida Stadium's Gate No 4 to discuss the exorbitant fee hike. The school has increased its quarterly fee from Rs 20,000 to Rs 35,000 — a 75 per cent hike!
Parents have formed a group called Cambridge School Parents Association (CSPA) to fight this fee hike.
K Arunchalam, general secretary of CSPA, told City Spidey that the school had not only increased the tuition fee but also the transport fee. “When parents tried talking to the school officials about this, they refused to talk to any of them,” said Arunchalam. "We will go as a group and meet the school officials, and also ask the district magistrate to intervene."
CSPA wants the fee to be rolled back and the government to put a cap on the fee hikes by schools.
It is interesting to note that despite several such protests in Noida, none of the schools have rolled back their fees.
