Noida parents organise candle march against fee hike

Members of All Noida School Parents Association (ANSPA) conducted a candle march against arbitrary fee hikes in private schools on April 23. The march started from Noida Stadium in Sector 21A and ended at Kailash hospital in Sector 27.
Upon reaching the hospital, members of  the group gave a memorandum to Dr Mahesh Sharma.

Parents with wards studying in about 25 schools of the city were part of the march.

Parents said private schools of Gautam Budh Nagar had hiked fees from 25 per cent to 50 per cent and the government had done nothing to stop this atrocity.

K Arunachalam, general secreatary of ANSPA, told City Spidey that through this candle march the parents wanted to highlight the problem. "We also met the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister regarding this," he added.

Yatendra Kasana, president of ANSPA, said the committee assigned by the DM to investigate the issue, had visited some schools in the city and found that almost all schools had hiked their fees and forced parents to buy books and uniforms from them at a high cost.
