Dwarka’s Sector 9 park to get a facelift soon!

Park No 3 in Sector 9, Dwarka, is all set for renovation. It will soon get toilets, improved jogging tracks and a bamboo shed for yoga classes. The declaration was made at a meeting between FORWAS (Federation of RWAs) and DP Singh, chief engineer, DDA, at the park.

MK Singh, general secretary of FORWAS, said, “Construction of toilets at the park for male and female visitors has been approved. Improvement of the park's jogging tracks will also be done on a priority basis. Singh also approved the construction of a bamboo shed for yoga classes.”

Singh agreed to allot the space adjacent to New Era Business School in Sector 9 to the construction of a recreation centre for senior citizens. Parveen Rana, area councillor, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), who was also present at the meeting, assured residents he would get the necessary funds sanctioned by the SDMC.

Some of the other issues discussed at the meeting were:

  • The problem of inflated water bills. Singh assured FORWAS that he would rectify the bills in case any discrepancy was found.
  • The installation of gates at the entry and exit points of service roads in Sector 9, and the construction of speed breakers in the area.
  • Development of a local shopping centre near an Excise Department plot between Royal Residency and Bhrigu Apartments.
  • The shifting of a mobile tower near SFS 2.

FORWAS extended its gratitude to Singh for agreeing to develop an open-air gym in Park No 3.

The meeting was also attended by AK Chopra, superintending engineer, DDA,  Prem Chand, deputy director, Horticulture, and other officials of the DDA. A large number of residents of Sector 9 were also present.
