The group gathered in Sector 6 for the tree-planting drive, the painting competition and the talks on environment organised by the NGO.

Green circle, an NGO comprising residents of Dwarka celebrated the World Environment Day with a tree-planting drive, painting competition and talks on environment at Sector 6.

Children were given prizes and certificates for participating in the events. AK Parashar, a resident of Sri Agrasen Apartments, Sector 7, and a volunteer with Green Circle, said, "We planted more than 40 trees. Residents adopted trees and pledged to water them regularly. Children were also encouraged to water and preserve trees."

 

 

Sudha Sinha, general secretary of Federation of Cooperative Group Housing Societies (FCGHS) Dwarka, other members of the federation, and several other residents were present at the occasion. Advocate KS Bhati, president of Federation of RWAs of Sector 9 (FORWAS), and SS Goel, an environment lover from IIT Engineers Apartments, Sector 10, were also present at the occasion. Dr Bhagat Chandra, PK Dutta and Kamaldeep Kaur were also present at the event.
