Residents of Amrapali Platinum, a residential society in Sector 119, Noida, have been complaining about frequently malfunctioning lifts.

A resident complained, “We have been living here for the last 4 to 5 years, but things haven’t changed. Lifts continue to malfunction and we are often left trapped, and are rescued only after an hour or so.”

Hardeep Singh, another resident, confirmed that in the last 45 days, five incidents of lift malfunction have taken place. “On April 26, a small kid got trapped in the lift of Tower H; on April 27, a maid got trapped in the lift of Tower I; on May 2, a resident got stuck in Tower H; five people were trapped in a lift on May 21; and on May 22 again, four people got stuck.”

The developer had promised to install three lifts each for towers D and E, but till date, the towers have only two lifts. Most of the time, even alarms within the lifts are not working.

In a meeting held last month at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, Sector 6, the developer had promised to solve the lift woes within seven days, but nothing has been done so far.

“I also wrote letters to Noida Authority, SSP of GB Nagar and met police officials to lodge an FIR against the builder. But surprisingly, the FIR has still not been lodged,” Singh added.

When City Spidey contacted Luv Kumar, SSP of GB Nagar, he said he would need to check whether any letter has been received by his office before responding.
