Kicking off Van Mahotsav in Gautam Budh Nagar, top officials of Noida Authority planted 5,570 saplings in various residential sectors and parks across the city. Van Mahotsav will be celebrated from July 1-7.

Amit Mohan Prasad, CEO of Noida Authority, flagged off the drive with the slogan “Green Noida, Clean Noida”.

Saumaya Srivastava, deputy CEO, Omvir Singh, director of Horticulture, and other officials of Noida Authority also participated in the drive. “We have planted saplings of many fruit-bearing plants in the city,” officials added.

Officials said this move was aimed at reducing air pollution in the city.

Singh told City Spidey that saplings were planted in 16 locations across the city. “The drive took place in sectors 50, 77, 100, 119, 120, 122 and 135, and the NH 24 roundabout, among other areas,” he added.
