BN Singh, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, launched a rescue van for women today.
Women in distress can call 181, the 24x7 toll-free helpline, to avail the rescue van.
"The six-seater rescue van has a trained female paramedic and a female police officer on board," said Singh. “This will help keep women of the district safe. The rescue van will address any distress call immediately."
Last month, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched rescue vans for 64 districts of the state. Now, all 75 districts of the state have this service. During the previous Samajwadi Party government, the service was available in only 11 districts of the state.
