Dwarka residents sweat it out at the open-air gym
Dwarka may soon be the fittest area in the NCR. This morning it added another open-air gym to the neighbourhood. Set up at the Sector 9 park, it has been constructed by the DDA and is located right behind Ganpati Apartments.
Representatives of various RWAs of the sector, Federation of RWAs (FORWA) and area councillor Praveen Rana were present at the inauguration ceremony. Rana inaugurated the gym.
At the event, residents put forth their concerns about maintenance and security of the gym.
President of FORWA and Ganpati Apartments, Advocate KS Bhati, said, “We had met the Chief Engineer [Dwarka] earlier, in which he promised us this open-air gym. I am thankful to him on behalf of our team and residents of the sector.”
Secretary-general of FORWA, MK Singh, said, “We have requested DDA officials to maintain the gym. The installation of a synthetic gym floor should also happen soon.”
Members of FORWA told City Spidey that they were trying to develop Sector 9 into a model sector.
