General VK Singh (Retd), Union minister of state for external affairs, met the family members of Squadron Leader S Tiwari at their residence in Amba G Residency of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. Tiwari was among the seven military personnel who lost their lives in the recent chopper crash in Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh. The minister assured the family of all necessary assistance.

The minister made a brief stop at the deceased squadron leader’s residence while on his way to the Clean and Green pro-environment programme being organised by the district administration at Indira Priyadarshini Park on the banks of river Hindon.

The Mi-17 chopper crashed last Friday killing seven military personnel, including five IAF officers and two armymen. The helicopter was carrying supplies to a post of the Indian army in the mountainous region near the China-India border.
