Delhi govt notifies fee anomaly committees to address parents' complaints

Parents can now register their complaints about arbitrary fee hikes with the Fee Anomaly Committees of the district.  The committees, notified by the Delhi government under the Directorate of Education, will be responsible for solving the complaints within 90 days.

The decision in this regard was taken yesterday in a meeting chaired by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The move came after the Directorate of Education received a flood of complaints from parents of different private schools across the city.

“Each district will have one Fee Anomaly Committee. Parents will be able to register their complaint after paying Rs 100. The committee will examine the complaints and will give its final decision within a period of 90 days,” said an official in the government.

City Spidey, on November 23, had carried out a report Delhi government's proposal to set up an independent panel to look into the matters related to fee hike by private schools.

The government has also directed all private schools to submit details of their accounts in the pro forma provided for the purpose.
