Traffic on the Ghazipur-Patparganj road will be closed for more than two months, as PWD has started dismantling the old bridge near Mother Dairy.

A PWD official said, “The bridge on the carriageway from Nizamuddin to Ghazipur will be dismantled and a new bridge will be constructed there. The whole project will take at least two months. Thus, traffic from Nizamuddin via Noida Mor will be partially put on the opposite two-lane carriageway and partially on the three-lane slip road towards Mother Dairy, before it eventually merges with the main carriageway about 250 m away.”

Simultaneously, traffic coming from Ghazipur to Nizamuddin Bridge will be partially diverted on the main carriageway and partially on the slip road towards Sanjay Lake before it merges with the main carriageway about 400 m away.

Congestion is expected on the adjoining roads, owing to these developments.

To avoid congestion and delay, commuters moving towards Ghazipur from Noida will be diverted by Delhi traffic police towards Ring Road, Vikash Marg, New Patparganj Road and Karkari Mor. Meanwhile, commuters from Sarai Kale Khan to IP Extension will move via Mother Dairy.
