CONRWA sends letter to PMO supporting the CBSE students' protest

The Confederation of NCR Residents Welfare Associations, popularly known as CONRWA, has extended its support to protesting CBSE students of Class X and XII, following the leak of their Mathematics and Economics papers respectively. Supporting the students’ voice, CONRWA wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding that a stay be put on CBSE’s decision to conduct re-examinations for these two papers.

In its one-page letter written in both Hindi and English, CONRWA said that the CLass XII students scheduled to appear for competitive exams on April 18 will suffer, as the re-examination will affect their preparation for these courses.

It also demanded an investigation into the matter, punishment for the guilty and termination of services of the CBSE chairman and the officers involved.

Talking to City Spidey, PS Jain, president of CONRWA, said, “A paper leak is a serious issue. It affects the future of lakhs of students, who are forced to suffer for no fault of theirs. We have urged PM Modi to give directions to the CBSE and the education minister to cancel the retests."

But why write such a letter when students are already vehemently voicing their protest? “The incident reveals how badly our system is functioning. We have raised our voice against the failure of the system," said Jain, adding,

"Apart from the officials, the students involved too should be taught a lesson, so this is never repeated in future."

But has CONRWA received an acknowledgement of the letter from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)?

“We had posted the letter to the PMO and had also sent it through e-mail. The letter was sent three days back, and we have received an acknowledgement on mail today,” Jain said.
