Residents of Dwarka undertook various eco-friendly activities while observing the ‘World Environment Day’ on Tuesday under the theme of ‘Beat the Plastic’.

A plantation programme was organised at the DDA park situated in Sector 3. Residents of various sectors along with the volunteers of ‘Choti Si Khushi’ - an NGO working on underprivileged children and women in the society participated in it. Apart from this, people also removed plastic waste from several parks.

Further, another plantation program was organised at Sri Agrasen Apartments of Sector 7.

At Sector 6, hundreds of children displayed their creativity while participating in the painting competition organised by an NGO ‘Green Circle’. The theme of the competition was environment protection and conservation.

Moreover, a function was organised to explain the importance of the environment by ‘Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi’ at the community hall of the new Kanchanjunga Apartments, located in Sector 23. Various environment lovers and activists gave their views apart from sharing their experiences regarding the environment in it.
