Donation camp in Dwarka for drought-affected

The NGO Goonj is organising a donation camp for drought-affected Maharashtra, Bundelkhand and other areas, in front of GD Goenka Public School near Golak Dham, Sector 10, Dwarka, on Sunday. The camp is being organised under the initiative "Rahat" by Goonj.

According to Arvind Agrawal, a resident of New Millennium Apartments in Sector 22 and a volunteer at the camp, “Rahat will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. People can donate anything from dry ration — such as rice, pulses and sugar — cookers and stationery to bags, tarpaulin, water containers, bed sheets, towels, mosquito nets and mosquito repellents.”

“We organise these camps to help people affected by natural calamities and other tragedies. Our aim is to provide them with the basic needs for survival. We got an enthusiastic response from our earlier camps and I hope people will donate for this noble cause too,” Agrawal said.

Arvind and Anjali Agrawal are the two head volunteers at the camp. Those who would like to lend a helping hand or volunteer, can call on 9899974319 and 9811654042.

Goonj is a Delhi-based non-profit organisation that operates in disaster relief and humanitarian aid.
